Got Excuses why you can't work your business or why it's failing to grow?
Sure, we all do.
Kids keep us busy, job gets in the way, no money, no time, etc...but it's all really like listening to the teacher on Charlie Brown right? Blah blah blah blah blah....... it means nothing!!
They are simply excuses YOU choose to prevent yourself from getting to your goal.
Scary right>>>??
We really do get in our own way..trust me, I've done it hundreds of times. I don't have to sit down and type a weekly motivational letter to my team each week. I should clean my house. I don't have to spend time hanging flyers when I really need to grocery shop and so on......
Watch 2 hours of TV a day? Cut it to 1 1/2 and use the other 30 minutes to work your business, whether that be make phone calls or update a blog or do some online marketing. Get up in the AM 15 minutes earlier and get online marketing..write your daily goal list. And then work it!
We all have the ABILITY to do these things, however you need the MOTIVATION to do it.
And motivation goes back to your "why". Why did you start this home business? Will your kids be in college in 10 years and you want the CASH to pay for it? Does your husband work 50+ hours a week and you'd like him home? Do YOU work full time, or part time out of the home , but want to work full time from your home? I urge you to re-examine your why, as I am doing this month, and get your dedication back in full swing.
My company offers a monthly contest that is open to all of us each month!! 10 spots now. I know I am going to be a winner . That's EXTRA cash in OUR pockets. I've upped my goals and am shaking up how I do things.I'm having an open house soon. I'm giving away more samples. I'm marketing locally in different ways and spending quality(not quantity) time online.
There are so many things we can all do.
First thing is to get rid of the excuses!

Follow your nose, follow your heart !
Do you have a "JOB" that really and truly makes you feel good?I am blessed to say I do.I have "followed my nose" to success...followed my heart to a life where I can be home with my kids, vacations when I want and create my own success!
And having a home candle business is much more than just selling candles.....it's empowering to help others start their own business and see success too.

Got excuses?
With anything in life, either you will or you won't. You do or you don't.Some things you can't do..everything else is a choice.
You won't or you can't?
Hhmm, let's see..you CAN'T lick your elbow....that is known. You CAN'T stand with one foot in NY and one in California. Right.
So what's your excuse ?
You can't have a successful home business because.......
you don't have enough time?
you don't like to talk to strangers?
you don't know who to set up a website?
you don't have money to invest?
you won't spend serious time marketing?
you won't give up a cup of coffee a day to use $40 a month to invest in your future?
you won't consider giving candles as gifts because you are not guaranteed a reorder?
If you take the time to seriously plant the seeds, tend to your garden, pull the weeds,water and fertilize, you CAN have the most beautiful bountiful garden on the block. You WILL have a gorgeous garden you can enjoy.
It's the same with a home business. Either you do or you don't. Either you will or you won't..invest the effort. Invest in yourself.Enjoy the benefits.

Ready, set, GROW!!
Trying to grow a home business by JUST focusing on the business aspect can be very hard. Rather like trying to grow a flower by just planting it........there are many other factors that are needed to make it grow and bloom prolifically.....sun,shade, the right soil, the right climate,etc..
Having a home business is the same. You need to have all the pieces of the pie to make the pie be at its optimum. And a HUGE part of that is self-growth and self improvement. Taking online classes ( such as www.globalteleclass.com), reading motivational books and listening to Cd's about personal development and character development will not only make you a better, stronger person and leader, it will improve your business strategies at the same time. It makes you look at the way you do things in a whole new way.
I highly recommend that you spend at least 1 hour a day on yourself! It's an investment that you really need to make!!! Be a magnet to all there is to learn.....be open to new ways.....be accepting to growth and change .
There are some leaders I recommend. Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn,Chris Widener, Michele Blood.
Sign up for newsletters, daily inspirations, and purchase what you can afford and what appeals to you. Your money invested is worth it beyond gold. Your life will improve in more ways than I can say and your business WILL grow as a result!

The lifestyle business
It's a new month and you may be making new goals or wondering why you haven't reached your old goals.
Ok, so first of all, you have to ask yourself WHAT are you willing to do to reach these goals?
Are you willing to work a few hours a day for the next few years on growing your business? You joined a network marketing company.......Take the time to get out there and network!
Have you made your list of contacts? Does anyone come into your home or to your front door who DOESN'T know about the opportunity of our business?
Sure, we sell fabulous candles. I burn them daily and love them. I use the soap bars and love them. I use the hand wash, the melts, the car fresheners......but I don't just consider myself in the candle business. If someone asks me what I do for a living , I never say " I sell candles".......you see, selling candles can make you great pocket money. Or more.But it may not change your lifestyle. And if you joined for pocket money, and that's all you want, then that is A-OK! Keep retailing and enjoying it.
But if you joined to change your lifestyle , then read on....
When asked what I do for a living, I say (with a huge grin) I am in the Opportunity business. Or "I'm an internet marketer with a fabulous company.....our main product line is alternative candles.....do you know anyone looking for a low cost home business?"
See the difference?
Residual income Can and DOES change lifestyles. You only need to look at the leaders at the top of their companies. But you don't need to go to the very top position to have serious life changing income.
You do need to ask yourself what you are willing to do to achieve this? Yes, I repeated it because it is an area even I stumble with.
it is so much easier for all of us to sit back and hope our teams grow, hope the phone rings, the e-mails come. To drive past the 10,000 square foot homes and say " I wish I could have that", to look at top leaders and say "wow"..well, how about saying " THAT is what I want, and THIS is what I will do to achieve it"

Our very own CEO is a huge supporter of this idea. Are you out there talking about the business to everyone who comes in yoru path? Sure it's hard somedays, but you have to at least TRY it on other days. Hand out your business cards, free samples(who doesn't want a free sample anyway?) and do it all with a smile. Why not? Life is fun..business should be fun

Are you calling potential prospects that are interesetdt in your business? Or those who requested more information? E-mails are great but a voice on the phone shows that you are REAL, and when they hear that smile in your voice, you gain trust and can share your business. Sharing is not selling, it's not asking and it's not pushing. It's simply sharing the facts and letting others make their decisions in their time. Some people take months to make that decision and join but if they remember a pleasant conversation with YOU, they'll seek you out again, not go looking for another distributor.
Living and Learning
Our company , as you know, is "big" on self -growth for a reason. The more you improve your life, the better leader you will be.The better person you will be. The more you will be empowered by your success and your new lifestyle. The more you will be respected and looked up to . When you grow yourself through self improvement books, cd's and workshops, this self development helps you have a new attitude about helping others , and trust me, You WILL like it!
Inspire yourself to be better than you were yesterday, to give from your heart, to reach your goals and live the life you deserve.
Do it for you, do it for your kids, do it because life is meant to be fun!
You can work hard now at creating a big residual income and enjoy the freedom that buys you down the road.

Whether this journey of personal growth takes months or years(most likely many years), the simple act of growing and moving forward and enriching the mind and spirit brings a new outlook. It brings a dynamic inner strength. And by opening the mind and soaking up new character , like soaking up the suns rays, we can shine upon all things around us a little brighter.
Leaders are learners. Leaders are readers. Leaders associate themselves with other leaders. And the ability to learn from the leaders can make you a leader yourself.
Being involved in network marketing is not just about a product. It's not about a comp plan, a company or beating the competition. It's about taking charge of ones life, focusing on becoming someone who adds value to others and sharing what you have (the value).
When you show someone a product, they may or may not buy. When you show a company, they may or may not join. Help save the Honey Bees.
A percentage of the sales on all the HoneyBee Vanilla candles will be donated to the Penn State Research Foundation set up to work on this very important issue. For those of you not aware of the plight facing the honeybees, and our food supply in general, search online for "colony collapse disorder" and you'll find a ton of information about this mysterious problem. Since honey bees pollinate around 60% of all food produced in this country, the ramifications are huge if the problem cannot be fixed.

Expanded options~ Minerals and more
Just announced!
My gourmet candle company will launch a new line of high quality make up, all natural based products, minerals and more, in May.
While make up was not my first choice of a product line, I have to embrace this change and look at it as opportunity. If I owned a small store that sold vitamins and was told I can now carry pet products, why would I say no? It would bring in a whole new clientle of pet owners , it would make me more money, more friends , more growth and inevitably some of those pet owners would also take a look at my vitamins.
So, really, it's a win-win in my eyes.
About the make-up line:
It will consist of natural based products withs soy proteins ,vitamin E, natural oils,etc
I'm also so proud to say that ALL make up is made in the U.S.A , FDA regulated and has No animal products or testing. can't tell you how happy I am NOT to see "made in China" labels.
It's a BEAUTIFUL way to start our summer season. It opens the door for women who are looking for a beauty home business to join us. Sure,there are alot of beauty businesses out there, but many are party plans and that is not always convenient or wanted by many.Others have high monthly commitments.
We will still will offer wholesale pricing to distributors so even for personal purchases, you can get department store quality make up at wholesale prices.
Also, what a spectacular choice of products as over 80% of homes use candles, and God only knows how many women use make up. Consumable products that people really want. It just keeps getting better and better!

Dire straights? Double the streams of income!
Not a day goes by when I don't hear of a close friend, neighbor ,relative or aquaintance complaining about lay offs,fear of being layed off or losing their home or business, not being able to afford bills or just the lack of money to live "a good life"
It makes me think.
It makes me sad.
Really.
What kind of country are we now where people can barely afford to eat and are in debt over their eyeballs?
I even have 3 close family members who have to make major"
lifestyle adjustments" due to slow business.
So, what's a person to do?
WEll, first of all, I truly believe everyone should have multiple streams of income adn I don't mean getting a night job!
Think about it. Trump, Kiwasaki, Buffet..even singers, actors...they all have many lines of income through endorsements , businesses, magazines, books, perfumes, etc...
WHY NOT YOU?
Why are you just relying on 1 income and trying to keep that boat afloat? Wouldn't you rather cruise it out to some tropical island, while earning residual income from home as one of your streams of income.
The only place I hear of consistent growth is home business. It allows freedom. it brings income in. It can be worked when you choose.
I know in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years and more, that my income will only continue to grow. I will have my main candle business, but also have enjoy life to the fullest.
WILL YOU?

They will all tell you that working on yourself is more important than working on your business. They DO go hand in hand. The more you grow, the more your business will. I know that is the case for me 110%. WHEN YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE A LEADER, YOU WILL BECOME ONE. WHEN YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE A WINNER, YOU WILL WIN. It's proven over the years by athletes and champions and multi-millionaires around the world.

Coming Soon~ March's Scent of the Month
PEAR POMEGRANATE
I know this will be a best seller. Our pomegranate scent is amazing and our Japanase Pear is awesome so this is going to be a much anticipated scent. It's so nice to have 12 new scents a year...every month when I get my candle of the month, it's like Christmas! Even my kids get excited to smell it.
And.....drumroll please........On March 1st we will unveil a new line of products. This company just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to share what they are( I dont even know yet). Stay tuned!

Persistence- Your most valuable asset for success
As one of my mentors told me once, success partially depends on staying with something long enough to reach your goals.
How many of us have new members who join and then quit after a month, 2 months, 6 months? Even a year.
They don't give themselves enough time to build a business..to set and work toward their goals, let alone reach them.
Most of them want a get-rich-overnight business. There is no such thing! Network marketing/MLM has been called a get-rich-slow business.
Team building is not always easy and not always even attained in the first half year or even year. Some of our leaders have said they worked extremely hard for the first 2-4 years in our business, now they work "extemely easy". lol
Setting both short term goals.daily.weekly..monthly ..as well as long term goals is the BEST way to help maintain your focus. Work on yourself as much as you work on your business! Confidence and motivation are so important. Belief in yourself is a key to success. Jim Rohn says:"Unless you change how you are,you will always have what you've got".
Another by Jim Rohn:
"If you go to work on your goals,your goals will go to work on you.If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you.Whatever good things we build end up building us."

One of the keys to living a life of joy is perception. It's HOW we look at things. The old "is the glass half full or half empty?"It's all really how we choose to see things.
Your mind is so powerful....beyond our comprehension really. And when you constantly see the negetive, it sets off a spiral effect throughout your day of negetivity, complaining and unhappiness. How can you create joy with all that around?
So what are you going to do? ALTER the way you see things. Choose to see the good in everything and everyone. Choose to see the beauty in the rain, the wind, the cold. Choose happiness today. Choose to see the light in the darkenss.
You'll feel better, I guarantee that.
How can anyone be the best person they can be if they are looking for the negetive in everything around them?
There are many people who've had terrible things happen in their lives, and they could have been destroyed because of it. But the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT factor to they way they deal with things is their perception and attitude.
The people who live lives of joy, and spread that joy onto everyone in their lives, are the ones who see the glass as half full, or even more than that"Heck, I've got quite a bit left here, thanks a lot"..sounds good doesn't it? Compared to "Mine's almost empty".
So changing your perception is a fantastic way to change your thoughts, and when you change your thoughts, you change your reality. Reality is WHERE you live..so make it the most beautiful place you can!
